ok long story short, i bought ssac stainless dumps since its cheaper to modify them instead of making complete new dump pipes, and the studs from the exhaust housing are hitting the runners of the dump (twin chamber) pipe, i was going to just put a torch to where its hitting and whack it to bend it in , is that ok ? or i was gunna use smaller studs in the exh housing of the turbo which do u guys suggest ?

Just cut the studs to be shorter and see if that works first. No sense in beating on stuff yet.

tisk, same on you man. But it's all good.

I say, do what ever makes it easy to work on later down the road, rigging stuff to fit once on the outside of the car, never pays off in the long run.

If it welds anywhere near as nice as the exhaust manifolds do, your in business. The welder who did my manifold commented on how much he liked welding on the manifold vs. welding the cheaper grade steel flange onto the pipe.

I've been looking at one of these, but haven't gotten any feedback about them.

i used an oem elbow that i modified. i cut out the secition that didnt clear the elbow and welded in half of a 1" exhaust pipe in it so it kinda looked like a C for the shaft to clear. the down pipe i used was just an ebay rb25 swap downpipe that i picked up for around 80 bux plus shipping. then i cut the flange off of that and welded 3" pipe all the way back with prebent elbows to my $20 ebay N1 style muffler. works pretty good and was cheap. only thing that sucks now is my downpipe back is all one peice so if i want to change my exhaust setup it all has to be changed.

i actually still have a brand new ss dump pipe that doesnt fit. i got it from jgy when i ordered my mounts and they said it would work.

Do you have a pic of the downpipe or see one similar to it on ebay that you could show us?

i cant view ebay from here, and that was like 2 years ago. ill see if i can find a similar one when i get home. its just a pretty standard 3" downpipe that bolts up to the dump. i dont know if an sr down would bolt up to rb dump but if it does, theres a chance that it could be the same. i just know that it fit perfect

SR bolts up only if you cut the flange, rotate, and weld it back.

I probably would have just bought a Top Hat one if they didn't specify "When used in combination with our mount kit, you will need to make up for a 2 inch difference in the exhaust or testpipe." I'm going to be using the Ruckus-racing mounts, so I would assume it'd be pretty close to Top Hat's.

Ya I bought one of those a long time ago, I modified it to fit, But when I cranked it, It Sounded Like Pure DOG ****!!!! Seriously, I took that SOB right off, its now in a storage building 100$ wasted, But it was worth a shot at the time. They claim it to clear the steering, But its no where's close.

I Modified the Stock down pipe and it Sounds Great, Very Mean on a Trust Open down pipe, Its a bit loud if your going to DD it , But since mine is a Mostly track only, Its staying Open down Pipe.
