Yes, I bought someone’s project car a few months ago and I’m probably in over my head. However Ive spent countless hours on here and Zilvia researching a ton, so I’m trying to eliminate the stupid questions before I ask them.

Let’s get into it. I have a 1991 Nissan 240sx hatchback that is manually swapped and has a turbo’d S14 engine (KA24DET). I knew that it was misfiring and cutting boost when I bought it.

The car has an RS enthalpy 1991 s13 ECU in it, but appears to have the s14 distributor hooked up, with what I assume is the original s14 wiring harness? Could the fact that it’s an s14 dizzy in an s13 be causing a misfire? Everything im reading says you can’t run the s14 dizzy in an s13.

As a note, I tried checking the timing a few days ago and ever since then the car won’t start now, engine turns over but won’t ignite, I can smell fuel so I know it’s not the injectors/fuel pump. I checked the ECU and I’m getting a code 34.

Looks like it is an S13 distributor. My bad guys, I thought it was an s14 for some reason

So does it run now?
I usually try just rotating the distributor back and forth to see if it was installed a tooth off. If it runs when you're hard over, you'll have to pull it and re-clock it.
