I bought some 17 inch 02 Q45 wheels months ago and just got around to putting them on the old girl. I decided on the 235/45/17 97W AVS ES100s. I haven’t had them long enough to say if I like them but they sure look mean (tires and wheels) compared to my old 15 inch BBS wheels. They are supposed to be sticky in the rain which is one of my major concerns considering my wife likes to corner aggressively. I’d hate for her to loose the rear end again.

Anyone have experience with the AVS ES100s? I’ll try and get some pics up soon.

By the way, the BBS wheels are going on the block soon. I’ll post in B/S/T.

post pics. and how much are you looking to get for the BBS?

Do you notice a difference in the ride, braking, and handling from the sudden increase in unsprung weight? Those 17's have got to weigh close to 30 lbs...if not more.

Good tire choice! I installed the ES-100's on my N/A 944 3 months ago and love them. They replaced Kumhos 712's which were OK but noisy and tended to tramline at freeway speeds. So far I've driven them hard and they grip very well wet/dry for a lower priced tire. They will my next choice on the Q if I ever wear those Kumho's out.

I'm currently running the es100's, and so far, love them. They are noisier than my old all-season Continentals, but the grip is amazing in the wet and dry. My all-time favorite tire for wet/dry handling is the Firestone sz-50's, but these are definitly up there. The aggressive look of the tire along with the 99Q rims has really transformed the look of the Q. I'll be posting pics this week.
