I'm going to guess and say the muffler shop(s) have welded the cat to the downpipe. If this is the case, you'll need a new downpipe and a factory cat to get everything to line up again.

Hey, yeah I have the same problem, it took me about three hours, but i found out what my problem is. the flange on the apexi side of the exhaust that bolts up to the cat was my problem. it was leaking up at the top ( ) and after three hours of messing with it I found out that the flange was not welded on correctly. It was tilted a bit back at the top so that when you bolt everything up, there is a gap up at the top. Only thing I can think of in fixing it is to take it to a muffler shop that does tig weld and get them to cut the welds off and reweld it so that it will be flushed. I was going to call apexi, but sadly I bought it off second hand, for $200 and it was put on for about 200 miles. I know why he sold it to me that cheap now....hahaha....well, hope you get yours fixed soon and as for me, I am riding with that little leak for right now cause the "T" is going to be part of the "KA" real soon.
