Ha, sucker. You thought I meant motorcycle.

Picked up a GT Aggressor 3.0 yesterday from a local bike shop. Since I moved to my new place, a lot of places are well within riding distance (grocery store, movie theaters, shops, restaurants etc) that I figured it's about time I picked up some low cost transportation. Who else here is on 2, human powered, wheels?

Now you'll have more gas to waste on spirited driving.

The city is building an amazing trail in my neighborhood that connects to an existing one. It's almost completely paved, and has exercise equipment at certain spots along it. I can't wait til it's finished to pick up a bike and do a few laps on it everyday.

Where do you live? There are some pretty epic trails here in SoCal, both paved and unpaved and a combination of both.

I'm in Miami. My neighborhood is going through massive overhauls. The city has decided that since my neighborhood is so close to Dolphin stadium, they need to pretty it up A LOT so they can attract more Superbowl votes. I was planning a trip to cali this summer, but I may be short on funds after I come back from Jamaica. We'll see.

Now that the weather is gotten so nice here in the northeast, I'll probably dig out mine (or better yet, my son's bike, which is newer/much nicer than mine) and log a few miles.

Nice find.

GT used to make a really, really nice bike.

I own a couple of Treks. There is a bike path here, but it really isn't anywhere near my house.

Nice bike Kenny! Didn't know you rode. I picked up a cheap full suspension bike last year, rode it a few times until my butt hurt like I had spent a few years in federal prison. Now I have a big ole gel seat for old people. Weather is warming up, I need to get back on it.

They still make really, really nice bikes. I shopped for what seemed like months before I made this decision and I waited until the right time and got a pretty good deal on it too.

I used to ride BMX back in the day (high school) but that's been like 10 years. The stock saddle on the bike was awful. I rode three miles and felt like I had just survived a round of initiation rapes in Federal Pound Me in the A** Prison. Needless to say, I picked up a Blackburn seat with some gel and memory foam inserts.

Funny, me too. Although it's been a tad longer, 20 years for me.

Sweet! I'm more into mountain biking and stuff. I'm rocking a modified Costco bike (LOL) until I can afford a decent hardtail.

I picked this up for probably about the same as that modified Costco bike cost you. I paid $299.

They got bought out a while back when the industry was in a buy-sell frenzy. They were purchased by some huffy-esque type company and made some sub-par stuff for a little while (and I think Schwinn did the same thing...), but I think they were re-sold to some other quality bike company after that.
What year is the one you bought?

NICE.

I had a Haro Extreme (in college), and owned a couple good BMX (cruiser-class, 24") bikes (Free Agent Limo, S&M) when my son was riding amateur and pro (ABA). Great sport for kids.

p.s. That "stuntin" crap isn't BMX.

THIS is BMX:

RAD had it all. There was legit BMX in there, as well as some tracks that you had to catch air to be the most efficient IIRC.

Kenny- what shop did you buy it from? Do they have a website? The shop I used to work at has become http://nbxbikes.com/

$300 isn't bad. The costco bike was like $200 and I've since added rock shox fork and replaced the rear shock with a solid tube.

It's scary the stuff I did on a bike was I was younger. Not sure where all that coordination went...

Its also amazing how little I hurt myself when those attempts went horribly wrong.
