I hate myself right now. I got some scratches (and some lost paint) on the bottom of the driver-side rear bumper. I tried to buff them out with some "scratch remover" at first but quickly realized that it doesn't work on polymer panels, only on metal. The scratches aren't -that- bad right now, I suppose, but I'm worried that the paint will continue to peel off the polymer and it will get pretty ugly. Can anyone recommend anything I can do? Is there a repair option, or can I only replace the whole bumper panel?

It won't peel. I backed into a concrete wall, a curb and a moving truck with my Altima. I looked bad but never peeled. Gee, maybe I should learn to drive!

Anyway, if the damage is just some light scratches then you can get it repainted. Otherwise, you will have to replace the entire fascia. $200-300 for the part + paint and labor.

Touchup paint is another possibility, but unless you are very skilled it will still show some.
