Hi, all.

As the subject says, I am thinking of bidding on these 18" Nissan rims. Anybody think they could be a problem for an Infiniti 1995 Q45?

18 x 8 front and 18 x 9 rear, I believe ... the offset is 40mm.

The price is right ... so far!

They're indeed forged, but we need offset #'s and widths. As I recall, they're a diff offset than the new Q 18's.

I am confirming the width I mentioned above with the seller - the offset is definitely 40mm on all four wheels per his reply.

Holy crap. Under 200 bucks right now? that's crazy. I would definitely pick these up if I were you. (but that might be because I want your 17" G wheels ;))

Sounds like they'll work just as well as the new Q wheels....

Which member has those on his car? I can't recall right now....

Here is all the final data from the seller:

18x8 front,18x9 rear,40mm offset.

Will these work on a 1995 Q45? If so, I am going to go for it ... and, yeah, Nick, you are in front for the 17 inchers if I do this! :)

I can't see why they wouldn't.

Who is our member with the Emerald Q with the new Q champagne 18's?

No need for a special program on eBay.

Just enter the highest amount you're willing to pay. If the current high bid is $200, and you WON'T pay a penny over $600, then enter $600. If some schmo comes along and bids $450 at the last second, you still win the auction and you only pay $450.01 as the high bidder.

Just bidding $600 is not good enough. bidding $600 5 seconds before the end of the auction is how you win auctions! Btter yet, if $600 for ex, is you limit, bid $603 just in case $600 is someone elses max bid. Trust me, if there is an item you do not want to lose, you need to snipe!

You're very clearly NOT understanding my point.

Bid the MAX you are willing to pay. The MAX. Period.

If you come rolling in with your $603 and my high bid is $650, you won't see it (because it only shows what it will take for me to beat the next highest bidder) until it's too late.

Go to eBay and read about "sniping".

Hi, AZhitman.

I agree entirely. Early on, my wife became upset at losing to snipers and I gave her the same explanation. Eventually, she realized two things: (a) the price usually ended up higher than she would have been willing to pay if all were rational and (b) she often saw auctions later for the same item and won some of them. It works out to bid the MAX up front that you are willing to live with - bidding later causes one to pay too much sometimes in the frenzy!

I don't think that people understand the eBay sniping thing. Ebay has this thing called PROXY BIDDING. It bids for you in small increments up to the maximum amount you're willing to bid.

For example:If the item was going for $200, and you entered your MAXIMUM bid as $800, ebay would bid $205 for you. Then if someone else came along and bid $400 for it, ebay would bid $405 for you...all the way up to your $800 maximum.

This is what you meant, right AZ?

I've got to say, sniping does make sense in some circumstances... I think a lot of people (not understanding proxy bidding) wait until the last few minutes to bid... some get lulled into a sense of security watching the item with no bids - bid low, and then don't have time to compensate when you come in at the last second. In a perfect world with well informed eBayers, the proxy bidding would work the same way.

Saying that Proxy Bidding is enough shows lack of knowledge of the psychology behind bidding in general! Those who avoid using a sniping software and just use proxy will always loose to me. And that is because one does not always calculate the maximum they are willing to bid. They just bid and if another bid comes, then they may reconsider. That same maximum amount should be entered to a sniping software and let the computer bid 5 seconds or so before the end of the auction. That way: 1. you do not show ineterste early on and people tend not to bid aggressively to items with low bids and 2. you maximize your chances of wining.Good luck!! (I am done with this subject :)

Then they are not using the proxy properly, which defeats the purpose. And they deserve to lose to you in that instance.

All I can say is, I've never been "sniped" - I get what I want for the price I want, so no need for me to engage in all that extra effort. But if it works for you, then rock on. :D

I think I would be more concerned with the fine print. The auction says that shipping insurance is required and the cost is $600.00. I'd certainly make sure that is a typo!!!!!

600 is still a great deal for forged 18 inch wheels

agreed that $600 may be a good deal for the wheels, but it's not a good deal for "shipping insurance." it must be a typo.
