OK I have a 95 240sx se 70000miles car was great till the check engine light came on. I also notice a very slight hesitation and a sparatic idle. this went on for about a week and was not to bad. Then it started to get bad really bad. after driveing the car for about 20-30 min highway or city the car would have no trottle response, none what so ever till the rpms dropped to 2400 I then noticed this only happened if I gave it throttle like regular and then let off. I could start from a stop and go full throttle as fast as I wanted to but as soon as I let off the gas IN GEAR and pressed the gas again it was like there was nothing there I mean the engine actually sounded like it was bogging. I could hold the gas to the floor and nothing would happen till 2400 or if I switched gears up or down it would go away and the throttle worked or if I put the clutch in and gave it a rev it would rev fine also if I stay in a slow acceleration state it would be kinda ok only sputter really but if i let off and went back on Nadda I have. Any ideas here is what I have done so far I pulled the code 12 from the ecu this is mass air I repleced mine with another used one and also tested the car with my buddies that I know works I also replaced the fuel filter O2 senser and plugs. I checked the coolant temp sensor and the TPS both tested fine my next task is to swap my buddies and my distributer to see if it is this. please give me any feed back I have heard that the K&N drop in filters oil could damage my mass aif sensor but my buddy has one in his 97' 240 and has put the same amount of miles on his filter with no trouble so I am assuming that the oil did not damage anything BUT please I am going crazy and I cant afford the sr20 for awhile so I need any help i can get thanks for your help

Clean the AFM with brake cleaner, carb cleaner will leave a residue.

Check the harness and connector as well.
