Hello, I am new to the forum going on my 3rd 240sx. I lost one to theft, bought one and then had a baby and now I'm officially able to keep my baby. I have moved to colorado and haven't seen anything worth a dime. It is all rusted high school mechanic drifter junk that has crappie swaps and incredibly high mileage for prices around 5000-8000$ It is rather upsetting. I bought my first stock 1989 hatch with a extra engine ka24e extra snow tires great shape 124xxx no issues at all for 2800$ In 2011. I've searched CRAIGLIST for all of Colorado and Arizona and nothing has been worth my time, are there any sites or pages here that can help me find a decent deal?. I am also fighting the choice of a RB26DETT vs a brand new 515hp ls3. Which swap has less curve balls and is more strait forward?. I've done lots of research but can't find which one is more direct and less cutting firewalls etc.. I've got 20,000$ saved so let's see what I can get done. Anything Helps thanks :)

With $20k to spend, I would maybe look for someone selling a completed running swap in a nice condition chassis. There are so many of those on eBay and on Craigslist and FB Groups. Then get them to come down to a reasonable price, say $8k for an SR swap, $10k for RB25, $12k for LS.

Finding a virgin chassis is hard, and if you do find one with low mileage the owner will likely be asking double what it is worth unless completely unaware of drifting. Unless you are looking forward to the labor and doing everything exactly to your own desires (which is certainly reasonable) this is a great way to get a lot of bang for your buck.

If you want a pure stock S chassis, you have to be patient and honestly, look for an automatic, that way you know it was never drifted.
That is what I did any way.

If you don't want to wait too long, check out ebay, but only get it shipped from a trust worthy company and make sure you have everything listed about the car from the seller.
That way you get what you pay for and the seller can't take parts off the car after they sold it to you.

I HAVE A 1990 240sxse HATCHBACK WITH 104,000 UNMOLESTED MILES. I posted a sales offer in a posting above to an unknown location '"buyer' who wanted to buy a not completely assembled [or probably not capable of assembly]. It has theautomatic transmission, was sold in California to me [original buyer] and has just passed California emissions check with amazingly low emissions marks, so Colorado should be no problem. If you can match his or her $4000 price offer we can talk! Fly here to LA and drive home or have me drive to Colorado and you buy my ticket home. Interested or "just looking"?

Thank you for your replys. I am very very OCD about some things and that's why I haven't bought a already modifed car. I also would hate to buy one for 8-10k and then it die in a week + you never know what corners they cut until they fall apart. I once had a eagle talon tsi and that should say enough ha ha. I lifted the dash to see a mess and then I had to discover Jerry rigged sensors it was a mess. I learned that day I'd always do it myself and from a clean plate. I will definitely kick the idea around about your car don't hesitate to sell it though. It is ice cold here right now so I'm kind of pre searching to see where the best deals are and then my tremendous wife found a add page on here last nite so I will keep my eyes glued there for a while. I've also not fully made my mind up on the 240. I almost gave in and bought a 350z anyone vote 350z over 240sx? I love my 06 xterra 6 speed and I've been working on the vq engines a while and v8s far more than rb26 or ka for that matter. That xterra though It gets up and moves. It isn't however completely stock but with 290-300hp it can spin them plenty fine.

It wasn't rejected by any means . It is snowing here in colorado and I'd have to drive it back here in the snow. It wouldn't be the smartest move man and I'd have to pay more now rather than when I'm going to Arizona in the spring which would be better for me because I'm not paying the plane ride
