Hey guys and gals, I am sorry for asking for help on this but I am new to the forum and have been reading other postings on this issue, but when I signed up I cannot find the discussion.

My wife was at the store and she went to start the car and it started right up and when she went to back up it died. She set for a second and tryed starting the car again and it started but it took awhile.

04 G35 Sedan - Service-Slip-VDC light came on. I took it to Autozone and they scanned and came back with code 0340. This code shows about six possibilties. 1st I changed the Bank 1 camshaft sensor(passenger side), disconnected battery for a few minutes so the computer would reset. Went to start car and it tokk about 3 to 5 seconds and the car started. Light did not come on then. I tryed to start the car a second time try by just turning the key for a second, it did not start and the light come on again, so I tryed again and it started but it took another 3 to 5 seconds holding the key down. The code shows that it could be the Camshaft sensor (bank 1)Electrical connectionStarter MotorEngine conditionOpen circuit

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I would call a dealership and talk with a service advisor. They are normally pretty helpful just over the phone. Ask them what it would cost to give you a diagnosis?

You already replaced the part that gave the code although I'm not sure why you disconnected the battery to reset the computer? It is good to work on the car with the battery disconnected though.

Do you have a scanner? Can you see if you have any PENDING codes? or STORED codes?

Probably is a cam position sensor.

The one you replaced could be bad. That has happened to several people before. Not uncommon for that to happen.

If your car is stock, I doubt its anything else. I haven't really heard of anybody having starter problems either.

Welcome to NICO

The G is a great vehicle but I would never allow anyone to mess with mine except the dealer.Very reliable but complexChanging ones own oil, replacing air and cabin filters, rotating tires can save a bunch of money

Everything else ,let the pro's do it and save yourself aggrevation.
