i am in a delema. i got layed off an have enoph to get one part. an i nead head bolts and a oil pump. but my oil pump is good but reduing my barings an piston rings. what should i get. sorry for my spelling. is the oil pump still good to use. please help.....

if it was working before you took it out you should be ok.

i dont think that you can even change the oil pump sense it is built into the timing cover.

lolwut?? Yes you can change the oil pump.

Get what you need more. An oil pump is pretty important, but if it worked before it should still have some life. Get the head studs, put the motor together, and get a new oil pump when you get a chance.

ok thank ya for the help an ya it worked good an i hand scrubed the whole car with degreaser an painted an put piston rings main an rod barrings, rear main seal an crank seals an sent head th shop an honed block wish i could have honed block

you could have honed it out yourself the tool cost like 15-20 bucks at Harbor frieght tools. sounds like you are doing great with the rebuild though

every time i looked for a new oil pump for my 240sx i could not find it.

Sorry, I was wrong actually. You can't BUY an oil pump. But you can buy the rebuild kit for it through Nissan or I think AMS performance has one.
