First, I would like to start by saying that the reason I am getting the haltech, is because I can get a really good deal on the SR20DET motor alone, with cut wiring harness, no ECU, just motor and transmission. And if I can use my stock transmission, I can get an even better deal. (I have a 1990 240SX)

SO, I know the Halteck E6K can be used with the optical crank sensor and it won't need a MAF anymore, but I keep seeing this "Ignitor chip" Is this something that I would need only when using the stock ECU? Or is this something I need when using the Haltech as well?

I also searched, and didn't find links to Haltech and it's use on the SR20.

Sorry for the NEWB question, but I didn't find it in the search! :(

Why not shoot for the E11?

It's 500$ more, and is there going to be a difference in the overall performance/drivebility of my car? I doubt it.

Seems that the E6K has been used in MANY applications, and the guys locally know this Standalone very well, so for the price difference, I would just go with the E6K.

I saw from a search on Google that one guy was using the MSD DIS4 for ignition, maybe this can be used instead of the stock ignitor chip!?

you can't use your stock transmission. The stuff inside is the same, but the bell housing doesn't fit. That has been discussed before.
