I got my DD214 today!!!! F*CK YEAH, MOTHERF*CKERS!!!! (for those of you who don't know, it's your papers from the military saying you have been separated)....So now I'm a jobless civilian bum again! Sweeeeeet!! Ok, enough about that....I went wheeling today...out here in the Croatian National Forest....it sucks!! There are only a handful of trails open, and the only thing that was any good, even looking past the gated trails, was the ATV area, which was a complete mess and looked awesome. So, I said screw it and threw mud around the parking area of the ATV area, which was more hardcore than the entire rest of the forest...and the chick at the Ranger station was like "Now, be careful...we don't give tows, and those trails are aweful swampy....swampy my ***, it was all high-level dirt roads, even though it rained for 2 days here....this is crap. So.....fukinitupagain....when are we going to Uhwarie? Anyways...here's a couple pics from today

Congrats on the discharge!... dishonorable no doubt...

Anyways, URE doesn't open back up until like late March or something. A bunch of the guys in NOAS (Nissan Offroad Association Southeast) are having a run up at Harlan (thats a bunch of old strip mine trails back in KY) in like late Feb., but if I don't have anymore money & a couple of things done to the R50 that I need done, I aint goin'.

Nah I was in the Navy...military kinda runs in my family (Grandfather on my dad's side was Navy, my mom's, Coast Guard, my dad was Marine Corps, brother is still in the Navy, and I married a Navy gal...lol. Go figure)...And thanks...nice to hear my work was appreciated. And no, it was honorable, but after some of the stunts that got swept under the rug by the other Gunners Mates on the ship....sometimes it baffles me how we got away with it....That sucks that URE is closed down for the season....I'm a little disappointed in the national forests out here....kinda makes me miss Cali a little....I thought it would be alot like back home in Florida, where you could just go find a retention pond and tear it up before the cops got called....or the powerline roads that were more jacked up than some of the trails were...oh well...guess I just have to search harder. And wtf is with the "you can't shoot anywhere" rules here??? Man this state is so far up its own *** it's not even funny....at least here on the east coast it is...oh well...And yeah, my red heeler pup figured out how to open the windows on his own...so now I gotta lock the windows when he decides to roam the car....lol

Yeah dude laws here suck & you have to actually find national forests to offroad. Back in WV we used to just go find some old logginf trails or some old abandoned strip mines or 4wheller trails & just run the hell outta it. Plus nobody thought anything about hearing gunshots on the top of some hill.

As soon as the wife & I graduate college (yup 26 & can't get the hell outta college) we're moving some place where the goverment stays the F*CK OUTTA OUR BUSINESS, like MT or ND. I've been trying to talk the wife into AK (the last real American frontier) but she doesn't want to be cut off from the main land (like I give a squat!).

Harlan is not technical but fun as hell (tons of mud on the side of a mountain).

I gotta laugh. A Japanese vehicle being driven around a Croatian forest by an American with an Australian cattle dog. Only in America, er, Croatia.

lmao...that's funny...I didn't even catch that combo...well played. And good job on spotting the heeler...not many people catch that one...most people are like "is that a beagle?".....Really? A frigging beagle? I should stab you with your own stupidity. Yeah...'cause we Japmerstraliatians can do that...it's late, I'm going to bed.

CONGRATS on getting out. I got my DD-214's from the Navy also. They booted me out in1996 for athletics endused asthma. Yeah I could sprint from one side of an aircraft carrier to the other, but in Nov in Chicago(great mistakes ILL) i had problems running miles against the wind at 4am. So oh well, medical discharge, and now with a family and a good career. Everything will workout, shipmate. What sucks is, I was in until day 3-4, my bunk mate later wrote me right after I left training was simple. oh well.

Six guns: Thanks for serving Our Country. How'd u end up in Croatia?? Anyway, I'm part Croatian. Take complete advantage of the Adriatic Sea, if U don't see the Dalmatian Coast (that's where the Dog comes from), U will be missing the most fantastics sights in the world. The islands off the coast are truly Unbelievable. Travel further up the coast toward Istria (now part of Croatia) and enjoy the Food & Wine, man. True Northern Italian cuisine...... and Good people.

Yeah, boot was way too simple...granted, I was 17, 128lbs, and in the best shape of my life...but yeah, Chicago was cold as f*ck...I remember we got in trouble for some jerkoff throwing a snowball in formation, so the RDC's left us in formation by the galley for 45 minutes in a blizard...-14 with the windchill. That absolutely sucked for being there for a week and having lived in Florida most of my life...And that was in January. But the whole placed sucked...didn't get any better until I left in May.

lol...sorry for the misunderstanding. I am not residing in Croatia...it's a national forest here in North Carolina that's about 20 minutes from my house...I'm sure it's gorgeous there....but I'm stuck in backwoods hell...don't get me wrong, I'm a country redneck ( I grew on up a ranch in Oregon) and I love small towns...but usually the "small town" has absolutely nothing to do, everyone knows it, and no one gives you trouble if you make up your own fun (wheeling wherever you want, so long as there isn't a crop or someone's house there)...but this "we would be a small town if it weren't for the Marine Corps" thing sucks....all the cops are so watchful for Marines being stupid, 'cause....well, they're known for it...that they take it out on everyone. Fueler, I'm totally moving back to Cali when my wife is done with her time in the Navy, dude..So we need to actually go wheeling then...lol.
