My truck was running like crap.So I read the codes "raised the hood ,saw that my idle was crazy so I unstuck the thermo element .Replaced the air flow meter.Still had a crank sensor code so I replaced the distributor.Truck runs great but stll has crank signal code 21.?????? I have 2 sets of plugs for each cylinder does it matter if the coil wires are reversed?

It will matter if they are reversed. Have you check the FSM for proper routing?

1989 still ran the twin plug Z24 engines so the information in the link I posted should still be valid.
