I am living outside USA and NEED your Advise

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I am living outside of USA and planning to buy a used EX35 from USA. What is your advise?

I can only see the pics of the car but how can I make sure that the car that I am looking for is what I am going to get? I can obtain the history report online and this is fine to me but this is not sufficient.

Is there anybody from NJ that wish to help or do you know anybody in NJ that can help? I am waiting for your replies.

History report
ALL service records...preferably from a dealer
Not really sure how you would go about this from another country?
How about a contract/agreement of some sort that gives you a certain amount of time to check it out or return it ? Not sure if that is something you can get someone to agree to or not?? Depends on how bad they need to sell it.

How about taking a trip to NJ and picking it out yourself, driving it, etc... Then commit to buying one you like and are comfy with and then having it shipped to you? That might be the safest way to be sure of what you are getting... ??

The safest, but not least expensive, way to be sure of what you are getting is to purchase a former leased or traded in CPO from a dealer. These usually have a warranty that may even be transferable to an Inifniti dealership in your country, and I believe Infiniti only provides CPO status to cars they have have serviced, know the history of, and have thoroughly checked out before selling. They of course charge more than for a non CPO, but it may be worth it. As many leases are 3 years in length, there should be some 09's available. Former lease vehicles often have fairly low mileage as you have to pay a penalty if you exceed the allotted amount.

Thank you guys for everything. I purchased a Black 2009 from a local and it's in a good shape.

Wow! I am impressed by your patience and persistence in finding an EX. After you've had a chance to drive it a bit it would be great to hear how it fits (or doesn't) with your expectations.

No disrespect, iMAK, but when I first read your post I thought your request sounded fishy. You see, I placed on Kijiji a few cars for sale in the last 5 years, and I got many emails from "abroad" asking me if it would be OK for me to accept being wired the requested amount and extra for shipping. Easy to spot that scam. Both more creative has been this person coming to my door, a good old local man, interested in buying my RSX on behalf of another person from Africa. He said he was acting as an agent from this person but he did not know him - he had received about $100 US dollars for his effort and he needed that money so he accepted. I asked him that I would only accept cash for my cars and he said HE would pay cash, send the car to Nigeria - and pay for it (or somewhere) and then get reimbursed later and with an extra 2k for his time and help. Yeah, right. We called the RCMP right there and let him talk to their anti-fraud unit. It turns out that this was a classic fraud. They are recruiting retired people or out of luck people to defraud them later. This poor fellow was sure it was legit because he had $100 cash in his pocket to show for, but this was a ruse to have him loose 10k and not have a car at the end to show for it. Well, let me tell you he was not pleased being taken for a ride. The officer told him to return the money and be done with this fellow. I am not sure what he did with the $ and I never saw him again.

Again, no disrespect meant, iMAK. I am happy things worked out for you and enjoy the car!
