I forget, was it the red pill? Whatever, my Matrix references not withstanding. Here is basically what I am saying.I have owned many cars over the years, many at the same time. Hell I have a CA18DET, RB20DET, FJ20ET and L20ET all parked in front of the house right now. I have commitment issues and a short attention span, I might be a hoarder. I have never really took it to the next level because I never stuck with a project very long. I always did the basics and had great success beating cars with tons of money soaked into them but terrible tuning or ham-fisted drivers who couldn't put the power down in a usable fashion. I am going through some stuff in my life right now and that struggling artist **** isn't cute anymore. I will soon be married again, for good this time, and I don't want to give up my car hobby but I don't want it to be a burden for my family so I have to concentrate on one thing. I have looked at all the cars I have and the huge pile of parts I have trying to decide what is the most logical car/engine to go with.My first wife who I built the 180SX for could not deal with owning the car without her in-house mechanic so the car is now mine. I now have a car with tons of stuff on it. I also have a large volume of CA18DET parts. I have always had good times with the CA18, most notably my crazy NA Silvia so the choice was not so hard. The CA18 is what I will be working on in the coming year. I am going to dig deeper and see what I can do with it when I get serious. I have 90% of a rebuild parts set sitting in a box that will be put to use, I have multiple turbos kits to pick from and thanks to Ragnasian two 4-port euro heads to go along with my four 8-port JDM heads. I have four engine blocks to include a true CA20, extra cranks etc. I only need a few things like cams to put a motor together and an EMS to replace my antique VPC. I plan to document the things I do so that others might benefit from my successes and failures Look for a complete overhaul thread next year step by step with pictures, hopefully not the last pic being one of a con rod sticking through the block because I forgot something I will be using the FSM so I will have all the torque specs and I will annotate part numbers too.I am still formulating a plan for the motor, what to expect from it, how crazy do I go. We shall see

So, in summation. I am now fully one of you, CA18 24/7, a member of the mongrol horde, the dysfunctional but deadly CA tong. There is no going back from here vatos.

That's pretty deep....I'm not sure to be happy for you or sad? I'm sure we will all enjoy the 100% CA focus.

No tears, I am not throwing away or selling the other engines, just crating up the parts for much later. The dream garage will have the following and i have a good deal of the stuff to do it already.

R30 Skyline with 3.1 NA L28This car will be as original as possible, only the motor will be swapped and all hop-up parts will be vintage late 80s stuff.

R34 Skyline GT-RThis car will be, well, an R34 GT-R, that's good enough for me!

R32 Skyline GTS-RThis will be the freak of the bunch. I plan to force an FJ20 into it with no mercy. The R32 and R30 share similar visual cues, the sloping hood etc so i plan to paint and badge and sticker the car exactly like an RS-TURBO R30 where the motor originally was. The interior will follow similar RS styling cues. The car should be pretty sick. I already have all sorts of "holy ****" parts that should make it quite incapable of being driven in the rain.

180SXPooh was not supposed to be mine but it is now and it stays with me. My first wife entrusted it to me and I will take very good care of it. Unlike my current R30 it has a long history of combat and that won't change, it will just get more formidable. Maybe someday when she finds a nice guy and has a kid she will want it back. I would be happy to give it back to her, it will never truly be my car in my mind.

I have already begun corrupting my fiance. She put the short shifter in the 180 a couple of weeks ago.

Good, now now you can share your wealth of parts

Glad you are 100percent with us.

Are you parting any of that rebuild (or anything) stuff out? If you are, email me at [email protected]. I need to keep my rebuild on the road here in the next week to be finised before Jan 15.

Sorry guys, I need my extra parts in case the 1st string stuff takes a ****. If someone can confirm the Greddy stainless manifold will work on a LHD car I can find those at decent prices.
