Last year I completed my first distance charity bike ride. With the help of Nico family, friends, and coworkers I raised over $6000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society last spring. The ride itself was another story, it had 100+ degree heat and some of the most challenging terrain in this region. Fool that I was though I could pull it off, over the first 50 miles I drifted to the very back of the pack. By mile 60 (of 75) the average speed had dropped to a mall walkers pace. I was a sad sight by then end.
This year I am planning on doubling last years mileage, but it is going to

Here is why I do this ride.
The therapy my wife is on, (whos' research was partially funded by the MS society) allows her to train with me for this years ride with ambitions to complete her first century ride. Later on this year we are planning on competing in a triathlon. Training for the tri has not been easy for her since there are some remnants of damage done by attacks on her brain but she is determined and stubborn enough to get through the coaching and practice required. None of this would be possible if she was still on the daily injection therapy she was on for sometime prior to FDA approval of the daily pill she now takes.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Cheers,

If you are a cyclist in the DC area and are interested in doing this ride with a distance range of 30-150 miles check out bikeMS. This ride is known as being one of the best supported rides in the area.

I just wanted to thank those who have made a contribution to my ride effort.

Training has gone well. The weather has been great although time to ride has been short, adult responsibilities ftw.

This is the last week before my ride, I'm trying to make one last push. So if you can, some help would be awesome right about now.

Thanks everyone.
