Welp.... long story short. I dropped almost 400 bucks today to get the car atleast moving. Since I fried the chip Jon made for me, I had no way of controlling my injectors or MAF, so I had to go out and buy an SAFC2.

I pulled out the entire dash also today to change out the heater core that I broke and also to put in a black dash. Looks like crap with brown door panels, but its a start.

I get the car all back together and the SAFC2 is wired up and we are ready to go.

I initialize it, correctly I thought, and start the car. Well, it idles like absolute crap and just kinda sputters as I rev it. I used the chipped ECU with just the Z32 program in it since it is still good. I set my MAF settings to 2in 2out and knocked my fuel curves down to about -16% after a long talk with Darrell last night. I do a quick sensor check.... and I have NO Air Flow Metering and NO Throttle Percentages. GREAT! Also, my freakin gauge cluster isn't working, I have a light on in the dash that never worked before (washer fluid light) and the battery, brake, and another indicator light is just barely on in the cluster.

I give up!!!! But atleast the car did start and I did move it all of 30 feet out of the garage.....

Can anyone help me out with tuning this thing? I need help tuning it either on the stock ECU or with the ECU chipped for the Z32 MAF.

Everything else checks out ok though.... no leaks, 22 inHG on the boost gauge, 750-800 idle, and about 500 degrees on the EGT, so it has to be an SAFC problem.

I am going to double check my wiring tomorrow, but I am dead sure I wired it up correctly.

Frustrating day..... worked on the car all day, missed a Wedding I was supposed to go to.... spent more money I don't have.... and the car only moved 30 feet.

BLAH!!!!!

Joe

Cuzan0, I thought it was only set up like that if you were running the stock ECU? His is already chipped for the Z32 MAFS. I don't have one so I may not be the best person to talk about this. Joe, just do like me and get the PowerFC, Hehehehe

Ok.. put the stock ECU back in... set it up for 2in 7out and it worked. But I still have poor performance from it. It is just really boggy and doesn't want to run very well.

Also.... I guess something is wrong with my Taka Coolant lines because I am shooting coolant all over the backside of the motor now and it is just sizzling on the bell housing.

UGH!

So here is what I am going to do then.....

Yank the stock ECU, put in the Z32 Chipped one....

Yank the 450s and put in the stockers......

Sell off this brand freakin new SAFC2 and try to recoup a bit of cash....

Limit boost to around 7 pounds for clutch break in purposes....

And remove the coolant lines from the turbo since they are just extra drama that can go wrong.....

Once Jon can get me a chip and the clutch is broken in... then the 450s go back in...

I've had it with this stage of upgrades....

Joe

Anyone want to buy a 2 day old SAFC2? Black case with everything needed. I kid you not, this things has all of 30 feet on it.... not even a single mile. I paid 380 for it yesterday, so throw out some offers!

I just don't have the proper fuel map going to them is the problem, and I don't have the time/resources to get it to a dyno to tune it right away.

Hopefully I can get this damn thing running correctly this weekend. The beater is starting to act up again and I can't be without a car.

I say, put your stock stuff in for now and go the upgrades when you're feeling more comfortable you can try it again.

I've got some back-alley type deals going on..... so it will be all good by next weekend if I can fix that coolant leak problem.

When I think about it now.... I don't remember if I tightened down the compression fitting good enough going to the new barbed fitting I bought. I can hear it spraying kinda like a hose going through a nozzle and I think that is my problem. I just can't see it since it is between the motor and the firewall.

I was up late every night working on getting this done while I was on vacation and it's sad to say, I might have just gotten careless or forgetful.
