I've put some corrections, sorry about that it was kind of late when I did the post. I should be the one who reread my own stuff 3times before posting it.DarkKnight22 wrote:I had to reread that about 3 times and I'm still not sure I understand what you're asking? Are you asking if we like the transmission? I'm assuming that you're talking about the CVT?
Trust me my friend this is temporary, the crisis is giving us a break but this is all it's gonna be. Also each time I go to the US I fall on my back when I see how much cheaper it is for a full tank. Before this famous drop of prices it reached here(mtl) the 1,50 per litre which, someone corrects me if I'm wrong but should be aprox. multiplied by 4 to make a gallon so about 6$?!Input22 wrote:I say you buy a 3.5, gas isn't really an issue anymore (for now). I waisted 27 bucks today to fill it up.
Gas isn't my only reason I am 23 and the insurance cies would just charge me a fortune(they already do but there's always worst ). But you are right, the reasons why I asked him to look for the 3.5 was cause a lot of good options aren't available with the 2.5manual so as the good seller he was, he assumed I wanted the full package. But let say for a guy of my age it seems pretty hard to be taken seriously in a car dealer so it is kind of hard to make everything clear with the attitude I've got at the 2places I went(this pisses me off). But also alot of people seems to be happy with the 2.5 so I'm trying to stay with this idea. Leather seats as the auto climate ctrl are some of opts I'll regret to not get tough.-----When I also think about it they even told me I should hurry cause the prices were still dated from when the dollar was =1us but according to what I know it starts at 25 and in the US 20. It seems to be representative of the exchange rate we currently have up to date. But with this recetion(prices might drop more) and considering we're right in the middle of winter I feel like to wait a bit but I'm so not sure about it. I think this would be some other subjects I,d like to have your opinions guys.Ferguson wrote:
I'd find another dealer!! I bought the 3.5SE and the difference in price was just $4000 over the 2.5S. AND, not only do you get the V6, but you get a host of other upgrades too, like larger wheels and tires, sport suspension (including larger sway bars), traction control (switchable, and very nice in the snow), fog lights, auto climate control, and more. In short, it was a pretty good deal.
Maybe they were trying to sell you an SE with the leather package too?? My A/C was just over $35,000 CDN, taxes and all.
As for gas, I average around 8.6L/100km, while a friend at work gets about 7.5 with his 2.5 sedan (similar driving conditions). Sure, it'll drink more if you have a heavy foot, but I don't worry about the difference in normal driving.Modified by Ferguson at 10:40 AM 12/13/2008
