Today the unthinkable happened. In a moment of weakness I allowed a friend of my behind the wheel of my baby. My week old, pride and joy '95 240sx SE 5speed. After being told that he had driven stick before and was just rusty, I foolishly gave him the keys. The next few seconds are now the most traumatic of my life. He turned it on, dropped it into reverse, gassed it, then let go of the brake. We then went flying backwards and right into the front quarter panel of a late 90's sentra. Luckily for me, A) I wasnt driving, so no citation for me (though my friend felt that I should accept the points myself since he has already recieved 4 tickets and cant afford another...didn't happen though) and 2) (more importantly) I only managed to acquire minor damage to my bumper. Looks like it only needs to be repainted. thank god. But I must say, I am quite shaken. Never again will ANYONE be allowed to drive my baby, other than me. Several of my girl friends questioned me later yesterday, when they found me sitting by my car and appologizing to her. What can I say...it's the only decent thing I could do.

i let my friend drive my car a couple of times..... pulled the ebrake around one turn handled it nice, then pulled it around another and hit a tree in the left fender, fender n light needs replacing, thats it tho..... told mom, i came outta wal-mart and it was like that..... But im never letting anyone drive my car..... esp since i havent drivin it in over 2 months now....

this one time a girl was driving her bf's civic. she was waiting for us to leave and she tried backing up and ended up grinding the clutch 3 times and stalled. thats why you teach your gf how to drive stick in a 4-spd geo metro =P

Well just for the record I had no clue that he had that many tickets. Also of note, yesterday I learned that the last time he drove my best friends ford festiva (family car) he did almost the same thing. He pulled out and managed to clip this guys civic, but took care of the repairs under the table. I am beating myself up for not knowing what a bad driver he is. But on the plus side, I was able to install 4 new Polk 6 1/2" speakers in my car. no more disintegrated stock speakers for me!

seriously, i dont care how "rusty" someone is at driving a manual, but WHY WOULD YOU POP IT IN REVERSE AND FLOOR IT?! you should've been the first one to say , "uhm, you're in reverse you know that?" but im sure it was in a split second with no time to react. case in point, your friend is a retard who shouldn't be allowed to drive.

lenso, it was a split second thing. One minute we are just sitting there and the next thing I know my car is impacting on the other guys. It was over before I knew it started.

But now I am a staunch advocate of keeping others from driving your car. The only exception would be if you completely trust the person to handle your car (Im talking would trust your life to this person) and you have their keys in hand, just in case you need to offer them a reminder as to why they shouldnt let an "accident" happen

my friend always wants to drive my car and i tell him no, first of all he doesn't know how to drive stick, then he totaled his car, hit about 3 signs, went into a ditch, backed up over a rock so it ripped of his sideskirt, and backed up into another car before. all in less than a year. so you can see why i say no.

Yeah....cause if i ever drive somebody else car i drive with the thought that this is how i would want them to drive my car IF they ever get to. Then again, i just cant push someone else car the way i can push mine because,(at the risk of sounding corny), i feel a connection with my car and i know what it can and cant handle.

The only people thata re allowed to driv emy car are my mom, my father and the ****IGN mexican at the car wash t pull it out of the cash wash. WAIT, i got a story about the ****ing mexican, you know how there is rails where you ahve to drive the car up on to for the car wash, the f ucking retart drove and hit one of the raisl adn slide off on to track.
