While cops don't look specifically look for red cars, it naturally is more visible. So there is some truth to the fact that red cars get pulled over more. Case in point, my first car was red. I didn't have too much trouble in High School since my commute was short. But as soon as I got out and started making longer drives, I got 6 tickets in a year. I haven't owned a red car since. I think I got 2 in one year once, but other than that, it's maybe been 1 every 2 years or so. I do drive fast so I don't expect to have a clean record, but I haven't slowed much in my old(er) age.
Also consider that cops are indeed charged with making our communities safer. To do so, they will be more apt to target people who are more likely to be doing something else wrong. Young kids in general are pretty good targets. Modified cars add onto that quite a bit. Add to that the fat that 240sx's are getting to be more and more high profile in the street race/drifting scene, and you're making out to be a helluva target.
The best way to lower your chances of getting pulled over is not to give them a reason to. You assume a risk by speeding. I certainly don't expect that I'll live out the rest of my life not having a few more speeding tickets under my belt.
