First of all Many thanks to Canaan for helping me out this week. Without him, I would have been going into this pretty much clueless, without a chance to buy a car, and if I did get a car, I probably would have been a sucker haha.

Well first I was about to buy a 1.6 L sedan base w/ AC manual. But Canaan kept on sending me quotes/deals with the hatchback 1.8L prices. The whole time I was telling myself, hatch would be nice, but I can't afford it.

Well I brought in my clunker, and the dealer came around to giving me some good numbers on the 1.8 L sedan, just $800 more than the 1.6L sedan. So then my dad says ok just get the hatchback which is what I wanted him to say. So we agreed on a good deal for the hatchback and were ready to sign. Then the salesman comes to me and says, "Your truck is a Class 3 truck (gross vehicular weight >8500 lbs) You cant get the versa. You cant get a car. You can only get a class 3 or 2 (wheelbase>115 inches) truck. WTF!!! Darned cash for clunkers rules. What a deal breaker!!! I mean I have a 12mpg truck and cant trade it in for a 30 mpg econocar!!! Me my dad and the salesmen were pissed.

Maybe I'll just try and save for one. My only option now is a ford ranger extended cab
