So as many of you know my son gets to drive the 240 to basketball practice. well last week I was going to take the car to work instead of the charger. It was a cold and sunny morning when i walked out of my house. The leaves were still falling from the nearby trees. The grass was exceptionally green that day. I said to myself "wow what a beautiful morning!"I noticed the car wasn't parked in the driveway but instead on the street."thats akward?" said me.As my mind was trying to figure out why my son had parked it on the street my eyes noticed the most horrific thing. The rear right rim !!! its... its ....FUCHKING SCRATCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear I almost passed out. well it turns out my son forgot that the rear rims are 17x9 causing them to stick out a bit more. so when he parked he got as close to the fuchking curb as possible. not just making a little scratch but instead scratching the ENTIRE LIP OF THE RIM!!!!! Fuch!!!!!!!!!

That sucks man!!!

Time for some curb feelers!.

On a brighter note.. You have leaves on your trees, the grass is green? I'm jealous... It's -19* here tonight.

wheel lips can usually be repaired somewhat easily. Still, it is disappointing and maddening. Revoke his rights to the car, take the key, what ever it takes for him to be more aware/cautious with the car lol

pics or ban

wait.. do both.. post pics and ban your son from the car. Looks to be that he'll be cutting that green grass of yours and the whole neighborhood for the duration of spring to repair em.

Out of all honesty, it was just a kids mistake.

Imagine rocking a S15 front, genuine Supermade front bumper, some super nice paint job and him going through the garage door.

Its fixable, just make him pay for it.

That sucks man...just make him pay for it...stuff can be replaced...your son can't be. Later he will understand. If he just does chores around the house to "pay it off" will help instill the severity of the problem. I'm the same as 1SickSilvia...nobody drives my ride...not even my wife. At least they can be repaired.

Buy him an Enzo, let him enjoy it for a while and key it or do the same. That'll teach him a lesson. Or NOT???

I don't know, but to me that's a good excuse to upgrade wheels and have him stay away from the vert.

$100 and you won't be able to tell it was damaged.

We have this shop in Dallas and they do perfect job. You should have one in your area or you can ship it out. http://www.wheelsamerica.com

Geez, take it easy on the kid...it's just a rash. Have him pay to fix it, and just explain to him that he shouldn't park it so close to a curb. No need to go disowning him - if you want him to share your love of cars, treat him maturely and don't go buckwild on him - it'll pay off in the long run.

oh come on now, I love that kid and I would never ever get all mad at him over something that minor. I was just being funny( well trying to be) he felt bad enough when he did it. But i learned a while ago that he will never have the same interest as me. at least right now. I dont want to force him to like the stuff I do, that wouldnt be right. But soon he will come over to the dark side!

A hundred bucks? Really? I'd pay that if it was bent up too.

That's not bad.. almost any good rim repair place can fix that .. like mmm240 said. We even have a repair shop that is mobile here. They bring the entire shop to you and fix it there. I think they are around $125 and up (depends on rim) and they guarantee their work (paint too). I wouldn't stress about it. I would however make your son pay for it (maybe even charge him double for the aggrevation and heart attack). I can maybe find one in your area or at least try to get some leads. The group we use is a National outfit and may have someone near you. Let me know. Is there a Costco near you? If so let me know and I'll talk to the Tire Center manager there and get some reputable leads for you.

disowning ur son over fn's, weeeaaakkkk, hahaha.

but on a more serious note, you can fix that really easily w/ a little bit of sand paper, bronze spray paint & some painters tape around the rims & tire. Not a perfect job, but no one will notice unless they are looking for it. Just find a spray that is pretty close @ Kragen/Autozone/etc.

Please do. Maybe a simple write up with what materials you used. I've got some Kosei wheels with a little rash

Are you SERIOUS?! Your not touching that car. Your son is going to be out there lightly sanding and painting until its perfect!

Man, I thought this was going to be something serious.

I know how you're feeling though. It might be a little thing, but it still sucks.
