I actually watched OReilly last night

I always figured Obama was above doing combative interviews like that.

Its out of the ordinary for a candidate to go to where he's not liked or at least given a somewhat fair shake. Its pretty transparently silly, and no one therefore expects McCain to do it. People -do- expect McCain and Obama to participate in forums like Meet The Press and the like.

People don't have reverence and respect for OReilly the way they did for Tim Russert (RIP), so Obama gains nothing for doing it.
