Hello to all!

I have a 96 Infinity I30 with 142k and it sporaticly sputters and if stopped in traffic, it dies. I just had it in the shop and the check engine light was on. They searched the code and replaced the 3 O2 sensors. No light now, but still stutters and dies. Shop doen't know what's wrong. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Wayne

An engine needs three things to run. Fuel, spark and compression. So your problem in in one of those three areas.

Compression is the easiest to check. Although you may need a shop to do it unless you have the tools. Other than that, a good shop should be able to scope the car and determine of the spark is okay at idle. That leaves fuel. So, in short, try a really good FI cleaner, and maybe a new fuel filter.

Good luck.

I had that issue with my I30. They had to replace the ignition coils. Yes Coils. It seems that there are 6 of them. All together I spent about 1200 dollars. It ran so damn good afterwards though.
