By saying that, you are implying that Hyundai had a hand in using the VQ on their Genesis Coupe chassis. Millen did what he thought was practical to do so he himself can enter the competition. No sense for him sacrificing his standings in Formula D because of the delay of the engine.
If you can remember back in 2004, he went through the same stress with his Pontiac GTO in the D1 series. He barely got the car ready for competition and couldn't even make it to the Top 8.
He competed with the Genesis Coupe that had the VQ and didn't even get into the top 16 of Formula D. The car as a whole is not ready as well. But this is in no way discrediting the mass-produced Genesis Coupe. Millen and his team are having a hard time getting the overall car ready for Drift competition and this in itself takes a lot of testing and fine tuning. All he wanted to do was run in the competition. If was given more time, and if Hyundai didn't have a delay in the delivery of their engine, then it would be a different story.
Sorry if this is coming off strong, I just want to portray this at a neutral perspective as well.
