Lol id rather own a Genesis over a 240.
Great Warranty, Factory Turboe'd(room for more boost :)) and great breaks, and rwd!

why wouldn't you want one?

Until you become a more situated "Car owner" then your opinions are void.

With that being said..
id rather own a newer Hyundai over a Chevy... wouldn't want my heated windshield washer fluid to catch my car and fire and all....

seriously for anyone who has never owned a hyundai they need to at least drive one before talking crap... i love 2 car companies, nissan and hyundai. i currently own 1 of each and love them both. my old hyundai was an 00 elantra. i bet i coulda beat just about any civic or even 240 (minus turbo'd or sr'd) it was fast as hell and could chirp the tires in 3rd gear in an auto... i now have an 06 sonata with a v6 and it kicks a** and is comfy as hell.... dont badmouth stuff you know nothing about. sure hyundais may have been kinda crappy before say 97, but they are actually really nice cars and are cheaper in price than most. even seen a genesis sedan beet a 7 series beemer in a drag race.... sorry for the rant i just hate ignorant people...

I think that most of the Hyundai hate is based in what people have heard from other people. They make great cars at a price that you cant beat.

A good example of this word of mouth reputation that car companies get is Toyota. First people babble on about how good, safe, and reliable they are. Then this whole gas pedal fiasco happens and Toyota is the devil.

People aggravate me.

im sure my opinion means nothing to you as i have no experience and im just a kid.

but I have driven Hyundai's. I have worked on Hyundai's. while its true I do not own one. But I suppose my experience working at a mechanic's shop for 2 years now hasn't added up to anything besides the ability to work a broom effectively. I have an obvious and public biased against Korean cars, not once have I tried to be conceived as otherwise. but again, I fell Ive earned an opinion after working with broken vehicles for 2 years now.

I'm not trying to fight with anyone, im just backing up my opinions, don't take any of this as a serious attack :gapteeth:

This is why it doesn't matter to Hyundai if they offend you. : ;)

20 years ago $30k for a car was a lot. Today, it's nothing.
A top-end Sonata prices out at about $28k.
The Azera easily crosses the $30k mark.
The Genesis STARTS at $33k.
The Equus will be another tier above the Genesis, and probably be priced in the $40-50k range.
You can also easily spend $30k on a V6 Genesis Coupe.

I've driven one ton trucks with 45ft trailers loaded with forklifts, cars, and trucks.Still have yet to have an accident that's my fault,i got one ticket because my g20 had a massive cam, intake, and exhaust on it and you had to rev the piss outta it to go anywhere.I've driven cross country in said one tons with trailers loaded and unloaded and have never had a problem.I've stopped in at weigh stations and the state patrol s*** their pants when i tell them i haven't had an accident.
I Still wouldn't consider myself experienced. My dad on the other hand i would consider experienced,he's logged over 3 million miles behind the wheel of a semi(without a single accident, even working 7 day weeks for 4 years in a row),never has had a ticket in his 40 years of driving which 27 years of were driving a semi. He's god damned experienced.

You are free to express your opinion, but keep in mind, the more you post like this, the more you paint yourself as an ill-informed kid who will garner little or no respect. Not many people share your baseless disdain for Korean cars.

Hyundai makes some of the most reliable, better made cars in the market today. That claim is supported by most independant testing organizations and car publications Hyundai also stands behind their vehicles with one of the best warranties in the industry. As far as their demographics. They clearly do not cater to high school kids like you. Their targeted consumer is actually young and budget conscious, not older as you claim.

Like most foreign makes, Hyundai had quality/reliability issues when they first came into the US market, but they have gotten drastically better over the last decade. Your opinions are about a decade out of date, which suggests you're listening too much to those mechanics fixing old broken ones. And working two years pushing a broom summers in a repair shop full of old broken hyundais hardly makes you an expert. You might want to quit while you're behind.

I'm just laughing at the fact that the commercial's intention was to target parents who wants to provide safety for their 16 years olds; the add said nothing about 16 years old being bad drivers.

I guess 16 years olds really lack the ability to comprehend just a commercial now days :chuckle:

Actually, it said "somethingsomething we have to drive on the road with them blahblahh might as well be safe." Which leads me to my point, it didn't say teen drivers are bad, it said 16 year old drivers are bad. I don't care if you're Ken Gushi, when you were 16, you sucked at driving, end of story. They might as well have said "brand new drivers", wait nevermind, that IS what they said. When you're 16 your head is half developed, you think you're superman, and you're a noob driving around a 3000 pound missile. All this and you have yet to comprehend the concepts of easy braking, smooth lane changing, and courtesy to other drivers. We have all been there, its a learning process. Its no "stereotype", its a fact. SO, stop crying and go drive.

This gentleman, is irony. Mr. Sandman himself has completely missed the point of the commercial.

I'll only be a teenager for 6 more months. . . After that I can join with all you old guys and laugh at the butt-hurt 16 year old's. Maybe I'll even buy a Hyundai. ;)

I got my Q45 when I was 15.5 and did some of the stupidest s*** imaginable. Teenage drivers SUCK! On my original NICO profile my avatar was this:

I agree... Dollar for dollar, many brand new hyundai cars are better than many offerings nissan has to offer... Every time I have seen a hyundai as a rental car, Ive been impressed and I think many people are impressed... Many old ones might be closer to what you're saying, but have you ever even TOUCHED a QR25? Or maybe an altima or quest from early 2000s?

IMO theres only one car that HS cars should be driving, and thats:

The fact of the matter that most beginning drivers fail to forget is that everytime you get behind the wheel its a learning experience.. You could be a fossil like some of the other guys posting in this thread, or got your license 18 months ago... Either way you're still getting better.
