Okay so in the long long process of looking for rims, i cannot find the type i want in gloss black but i see "hyper black". I have NEVER seen a pair of hyper black rims in person, what exactly is "hyper black". Can someone describe it to me? Googling pictures gave me very little to work with but i found this on tirerack.

I like those but they come in silver, hyperblack, and something else. I wish they came in straight gloss black. And weren't 500 per wheel

I think is similar to gun metal. Someone on the forum got these for his AC. But I can't find the thread now.

Ugh. Why do they call it "hyper black" if its closer to gunmetal. I want the rims i posted but in black, but now it seems that isnt going to happen.

Yeah but your's are 20's and not the type of style i want. There ARE black wheels in 19's but they're all ugly as sin.

The picture was FROM tirerack. They have the GTC01's in everything BUT black.

Oh yeah i know that, lol. I was going to look at sites to find out if the style i want at least exists. However i was playing with a new idea...

Those on my white alti. Bronze on black looks sexy, but after discussing it with a lot of people on a different car forum, the right wheel with the right car with a white/bronze combination looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous and stands out from the "norm". They are 220 per wheel but the problem would be that its paying 1000+ (with tires) for a trial and error.

Ever notice how the stock wheels on the 3.5 SE vehicles look like these Enkeis???? That's because our stock wheels ARE Enkeis! I found that out when I changed my wheels!

I dont have the same wheel as you. I've got a sedan. And how do you know they are enkeis.

Check Ebay...those Bronze Enkei's seem to be cheaper there.

One reason to go "gold" could be to match a tan interior.

As for Hyperblack - since it is dark grey you cant go wrong - it is just a darker shade of silver - and this basic alloy color comes on the vast majority of cars made. This is especially so if you have a grey or black interior.

My wheels are HyperBlack.

So are these.

Hyper black is kind of a knock off of black chrome, from what I've seen/read, because I had the same question. Its a gunmetal base with countless coats of clear to make it look like chrome.

Black Chrome has more of a mirror finish that the Hyper Black does not have - They can be close depending on the respective shades or they can be far off. My grille is black chrome (with somewhat of a bronze tint) I will try to post a pic of it later. I think of hyper black like carbon black which actually appears to be dark grey.

TSW Hyperblack

Black Chrome grill - pics aren't the best but you can see the finish as well as the "regular" chrome emblem.

Here you can see the difference between Black Chrome and Chrome. The black chrome finish stops at the Infiniti emblem you can see the line separating the two finishes. The Black Chrome has a smoked or bronze tint.

Have you had any success?

If you haven't already done so you should buy the current rim and tire guide - it is a thick annual magazine cataloging much of what is available on the market. It also includes a fitment guide which can inform your search.

I know you are looking for gloss black but there also some new flat black finishes that might be worth considering.
