I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this question but want to make sure before I go filling it up. What do you use as clutch fluid on a 90 with a hydrolic clutch??? Is it DOT 3 or higher brake fluid?? If so, does it make a difference if its synthetic or not?? Thanks

yeah its regular dot3 brake fluid. you dont need anything special, the 2$ bottle will work just fine seeing as how the clutch system sees just about no high temps unlike the brake system.

on the way home from school i couldn't get my car into gear, i pumped my clutch and i finally got home. i just refilled the clutch master cylinder thing in the back driver corner of the engine bay with dot-3 brake fluid, i stared the car, waited a while, pumped the clutch, and the clutch is still as light as a feather, and wont get into gear. do i have to bleed it? is there another "slave" reservoir i dont know about? whats my next step, thanks guys. i appreciate it.

you need to remove the clutch damper. do a search if you dont know what that is. but it makes bleeding the clutch a pain in the ***.

i removed the clutch dampener, and bled the clutch. it worked. it was easy to bend the metal tube from the dampener stright to the clutch slave, ive heard of ppl breaking or kinking the hose, but mine went through sucessfully. The clutch engages really close to the top of the petal. my father was saying something about double checking and makeing sure the ?clutch fork? was not rubbing or detiriorating? how could i check that, and what are the negative sideeffects of having the clutch engage and disengage so close to the top of the petal. thanks.

The clutch fork is the part that moves to engage/disengage the clutch everytime you push the pedal. There's really no problem with the pedal being so high. There is an adjustment for pedal height but not an adjustment for engagement.
