Hydraulic valves? Pardon newbie question

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Are the valves on the ka24de hydraulic? Just curious cause my brother's 240sx has noise coming from the front of the valve cover. Can the valves be adjusted or could it be lifter tick? Timing chain?

No. Search please. Valves for a DE are "shim-on-bucket" directly activated valves. E Valves are hydraulic. The ticking you are hearing is the timing chain guides. Search for timing chain.
