The require less effort to lock the brakes and usually have a shorter throw than the stock cable e-brake. They're also nice because you can position the handle next to the steering wheel for quicker access.

essentially just the hydraulic e-brake(it should come with a master cylinder), then either lines to tie into the stock rear brake lines or a custom rear brake setup that adds another set of calipers to each brake rotor in the rear and then lines to connect those to the handbrake... with the first option being the cheapest/easiest.These aren't at all necessary for drifting though.

anyone running a h-brake on a 240? It looks easy to set up, i think it would really help with control and reduce my reaction lag.... got any DIY links to someone that's done this?

I'll make a DIY soon. They are pretty simple. Another benifit is the OEM hand brake cable streches and brakes over time. A hydrolic cant.

ya get that diy up asap. how do you tie it into the oem caliper and lines in the rear. woulnt the pressure just expand thru the the other lines? if u had a T fitting. i assume?

id get the second caliper set up. that would look sick. i bet a machine shop can cut some thing that would like this. this is the idea i had. this would replace the oem bracket

This is a great set up to run on a drift car but cost some decent coin to do and also you need some good fab knowledge to get it work right too!

ya i havent found a "kit" for our cars or anything. if i had the money id get a set up going. make that bracket, run some lines, find some sort of hydrolic "RAM" type deal. fab up something so it can use the oem ebrake or something.

My guess... the difference in time from when you realize you need to pull the ebrake to when the the ebrake locks the tires. Also known as reaction time.

ummm... Ksport and D2 sell a universal hydraulic handbrake. they only cost $199. I had one and it was awesome. the stock handbrake is crap compared to a hydraulic one. instant lock.

the thing that worries me on the uni kit is that the description says it ties into the rest of the brake lines. i dont know much about fluid engineering but my common sence says that the h-ebrake would force fluid to the rear caliper and the rest of the lines, including the front...

but thats my guess

the rear and front systems are isolated by the brake master cylinder.

would it effect the master still though?

^ i have also wondered/feard the same thing happening

the set up im going to run is a stock CMC (5/8") im has one output line...going to run that to the little box that splits the rearward hardline from the one that goes across the engine bay into the BMC...there will be a 3 way split it will look something like this

.......................CMC
.........................|
.........................|
-------[BOX]-----------+------BMC

i think that the stock BMC wouldnt allow pressure to flow from the rear lines to the front since no pressure is being applied at the MC???

ya, thinking about it now it shouldnt go to the front.

either way im not a fan of mixing oem and aftermarket and making them work as one haha

yes it can affect the master but its not serious.

if you guys are so worried about it just mount a 2nd set of rear brake calipers just for the ebrake. lots of drift guys do it but its really overkill.

i will admit that pic of both calipers on the single rotor was nice to look at for a minute or two.
