Can anyone help me with any tips for replacing the hydraulic cylinder on a 194 240sx convertible?

I was wondering about this too. Cylinder was riveted to the frame and it looked really difficult to replace.

No, the cylinder is not riveted. When you take out the rear seat adn the side panel and speaker, you will see two torx head bolts that are connect a bracket to the frame. You will need a t40 torx head socket to remove them. Once they are removed, you can pry that bracket away (towards the inside of the car). Once that bracket is removed, you can easily remove the cylinder. Be sure that you know how to use compression fittings on the plastic tubing on the hydraulic cylinders. Also, you might have to bleed the system after opening it up. Good luck!
