yeah I figured I would have to modify the transmission tunnel shifter whole any ways. Keep us posted.S14-NEO wrote:just got off the phone with Mack and it looks like I may have to open up the floor of my car somewhat to access the shifter plate properly in order to mount my shifter to it..Mack apologized for the mix up and is helping me out by making me a plate to cover up the hole properly as well as some sort of shifter boot to cover the hole up once the shifter is in place..
this is actually a kit he designed for the 240Z when using a RB25 and a Z32 transmission setup like mine..he told he thought it should be the same cause he has sold a few others and nobody said anything to him about it not fitting...he couldnt apologize enough for the mix up and told me he would make it right...THANKS MACK FOR EVERYTHING!!...your one bad mofo..DETurbine wrote:looks like you beat me to it...good work. Is mack working on making a specific kit for the rb/240sx or is he just fixing yours?
Frankly, I think the complexity of the internals of a transmission freaks people out. I personally would be hesitant to pull it apart and start working on a custom setup since I've never had experience with transmissions before.S14-NEO wrote:kinda odd that with all the views this thread has had ,I'm surprised more people havent said anything...anywho...it should be running this afternoon and i'll let everyone know how she is afterwards...
How is the transmission shifter bracket working for you? You ever get pictures of how much you ended up modifying the transmission tunnel whole? would be curious on the stance of the shifter.S14-NEO wrote:oh yeah man...i will post some updated pics tommorow hopefully. the transmission works GREAT, and so far no issues whatsoever with shifting or teh shifter placement at all...frankly i really like the placement of the shifter sue to the fact that the shifter sits alot closer to me.
well they are pretty tough but i wouldnt say indestructable...that transmission has been seeing north of 500whp for a few years.. so it has been stressed pretty good for a little while.also if you hit a dip in the road like i did while power shifting into third and the shifter pulled out of that gear just a wee bit while you were engaging the clutch well yeah , you can prob see why she did what she did..heheplacham wrote:You have a NEO rb25, so I assume that you had a RB25 5spd trans( since you put RB bell housing on z32 back half, so I assume it was from your trans that broke) . I though they were indestructible as many people claim them to be. How did you manage to do this ????????????
sorry man, to be honest i completely forgot about it...ill see what i can do about it this afternoon if i have some time.DETurbine wrote: How is the transmission shifter bracket working for you?
