And so, sitting in my new older car playing with my new toy, navi, blue tooth, and what does this do those games bla, bla, after about 20 mins, the car shuts down, as in dead as a door nail. Thinking old school, it has a normal battery somewhere, I will jump it or put a charger to bring it back to life. NO, not here, na, not there, boot, under the hood, no normal battery anywhere. Came to the idea, everythig runs off the EV bank. looked on manuals it shows there is a battery, under the hood, umm not on my car, its all EV stuff going on. must mean then non ev versions.

Anyway got a jump and it started back to life. run it for 10mins turned it off, fired up no problem. next we took it out for a 12 mile run, watching the charging meter, EV battery life meter, was full after some time. coming back, came up our hill, rough old road, about 5 to 10mph, engine cuts out, and now running in auto ev mode, got to the parking area about 7 or 800 mtrs up hill, running only Ev mode. turn car off, turn it back on, and the battery meter had dropped to about 35 to 40 % above empty from near full a short while before. Is that normal? :gotme

Also thinking now, to buy a nice power pack starting jumper system to throw in the boot, just in case..

Positively not normal. Sudden drops in EV SOC almost always mean one or more cell modules in the HV battery are swollen and malfunctioning.

 But it seems over here in this place, they are very inventive, I have been told there are people/places to go here to renovate and or replace, cells on these cars.. but first its going in soon for a service in Finiti service, and will ask them to check out the batteries and their health..

Individual cells can be replaced on just about all Nissan HV batteries. When they jump like that, the question becomes how many modules are screwed up. Very often it's a whole bank that's swollen, in which case we don't generally try to save them. Without the specialized services of a rebuilder who does the operations every day, the savings for replacing a whole bank plus labor quickly becomes marginal for a dealership. That's why rebuilders of that sort prosper.

Re, auxiliary battery, although at the min I did not find it, my 2015 Hybrid v6 3.5 From near everything I have read, says it does exist left side in the boot, so will be exploring yet again, to see if it exists…
Regard the big Hybrid cell set, in Eastern Europe, which is a poorer country, they claim anyway… As said, they are very inventive, and creative, need to be I suppose. So far according to my digging about here, there are a number of small firms which work regard repairs and rebuilds on the EV packs.

But I still question, the condition of the EV bat pack. I will be watching it very closely, the in car meter as I am not so sure, it just suddenly dropped from 80%ish to about 40% ish in some sudden fashion as you mentioned. It seems the claimed distance just using Electric is all over the place, are we going uphill, downhill, speed, and other aspects which can alter how far and how long before the Hybrid system can hold out until its depleted. Some claim 1.5 to 2.5 miles is about as best we can get, in just EV mode. So as my car goes it was running on pure EV mode to climb a rough old road for about 1 klm at very slow speed, it would have been running like this for a good 2 to 4 mins just in EV mode. Going up a steep incline, that’s going to kick the crap out of the BAT pack. But as said we will see…
