HYBRID: HUD Dash Unit w/ Analog Instrument Cluster

I don't post on here nearly enough but I've been constantly thinking about a new project for my S13. I currently have the HUD setup. My HUD has been going out (works when its hot type of thing), and its made me wonder.....why do I need two digital speedometers that only appear to be 6 inches apart to the driver. What would it take to install an Analog Gauge Cluster (Needled Speedo and Needled Tacho) while still maintaining the dash HUD. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

i thought about this too. the only way to run the hud is to still use the original digi speedo. so my idea is to put the digi speedo somewhere behind the dash out out of site and splice the needed wires to the analog harness. make a harness using the digi and analog pig tails. thats my way of trying to do it.
