Mods:s13 Redtop-Stock block-head-BC 264'S, BC exhaust/intake valves, BC springs and retainers.-greddy fm-tial bov-ss autochrome exhaust manifold(will be braced)-hy35-stock HG-ARP head studs

Soon to have tial wastegate, bigger injectors, and possibly cam gears/intake manifold, spec stage 4 clutch, oil lines, electric cut out, calum realtime for tuning.

So while im in Iraq my I decided to let my friends put this set up on my car and some other things. Was running a s15 t28 the whole time and always wanted to upgrade. Friend had a hy35 for sale so i got it. After researching online these turbos are impressive, handle boost, durable, and still good spool. Redline will be set to 8000, looking to make 350. Seeing how fast 280hp is, i can only imagine how fast this will be when its done. Ill try to update this as much as possible. enjoy

With the 9cm2 housing it's going to spool really quick and be capable of 450whp at around 25psi. You are going to have to get very creative with your down pipe. Just wait until you get it in the car and you will see. I would get a 4" vband flang and reduce it to 2.5" if it was me. You can try 3" but it is going to be a Biiiotch. With a external gate and low boost of 350whp the 2.5" will be fine. Trust me.

A link to a RHD BMC would be great. If I go with the BEP .70 ar housing I would like to change out BMC then also.

yup dont want the head ache of getting creative with the down pipe, sucks that im not there to see the build happen but i make sure to get lots of pics. lucky for us with s13's we dont have ABS like some s14's. quick question slider. the oil lines and fittings that your using on your hx, will those be good for my hy? i had the info on my other computer b4 it crashed and i cant remember.

Should be fine. I know the oil drain is a standard T3 and the oil supply fitting is 12mmX1.5.

I'm also going to be upgrading to an HY35...After all the research I've been doing and ppl like kentuckyslider talking about them, the evidence seems irrefutable. Good luck with the build.

My best race is a friend of mines FP3052, 272 camed EVO8. We were dead even with my old setup. He had more power but I'm lighter. Both MPH the same in the 1/8th and the 1/4 just depends on who cut the better 60'. I should have about 100more whp before I run out of injector with my HX35 setup but I don't know how that will translate to the track yet. I'm not much for bench racing but I don't think he will want any in the 1/4 that's for sure. There are 2 cars in my town that are registered that I can't beat. A 89 930 slant nose with twin triple K BW and a head and camed C6 Z06, both are easily 10 second cars with a crap 60'.

Curious if you got this thing running yet? I was planning to go this route due to the cost of twin scroll manifolds. What sort of tuning and fuel mods are you running? Looks good so far. Keep it up.

not running today. waiting on atp to ship out a bolt for the turbo lines since the didnt provide the correct size. tomorrow we are going to crank it over while we finish the tuning to get it idling. should be driving by thursday or friday.

Nice. Well please keep us updated. I am planning to try this similar setup. I can't seem to find the compressor side with the 90 degree bend already on it though.

Finally got the right parts from atp for the oil lines. oil lines look sick, ill post up pics prob later today. stuff thats left.

-need to figure out why my laptop cant connect to the consult cable(using nistune)-white plastic bushing or what ever it is that is on the bottom of the shifter-get HID's to work. Dont know why but at first they would stay on and flicker, then they would turn on and off. And now they dont even turn on lol

I'm glad I checked the sr section, I plan on using a holset for my next KA-T setup. A few quick questions: Why the HY series? I know Kentuckyslider went with the HX series, just wondering if the exhaust housing size was your reason for the HY. How does it compare to the size of a t28? I'm going to keep my setup bottom mount and want to know if I'm going to have any clearance issues.

This one is for both Kentuckyslider and the OP: In regards to the hx and hy series, which will spool faster? I'm either going to get an HY30, the HY35, or the HX30. I want it to spool really quickly but be capable of around 300-350hp. Sorry to threadjack, I just didn't want to start a whole new thread when my question is pretty specific haha. Thanks.

The exhaust housing is smaller I believe. Bottom mount for what reason? That s*** sucks. Good luck building that manifold. Go with the hx35.

Ok so update. -Rear subframe pulled-all bushings burned out, collars removed, sprayed with degreaser, pressure washed.-solid subframe and diff bushings in-polyurethane bushings pressed in for the rest of the the subframe.-everything primered with some coats and then added crazy colors. Looks like a skittle sponsered subframe.

I still cant connect the consult cable for my nistune to my computer. It wont read it on my laptop or my buddies.

Re-checked the wiring for the consult cable since the s13 is not OB2 and you have to wire it up. To fix this I would have to send my ECU back to Australia with the nistune board for them to install and make sure it works. Its going to take for ever for that to get sent back though. Im contemplating taking the loss and go JWT just so I can get this running asap and prob sell the nistune. WWJD ???I rlly am f***ing fead up with it lol

Have you tried autovaughnperformance?? http://www.autovaughnperforman...id=73

Andy should be able to help you out. They are just outside of Nashville Tn. So shipping should be quick to FL.

BTW. I would recommend you invest in this turbine blanket. I got mine from enjuku racing in Tampa. Even with DOT 5 brake fluid you will boil the brakes on a long trip and get serious pedal fad. Trust me, I drove mine to the dyno(about 80 miles) without one and it happend to me.

With the 3" dp and the tubular mani 18psi should net 350+ whp. I wouldn't push the HY35 past 24-25 psi. With the 9cm2 housing that is there choking point. I wouldn't go past 18psi on stock bottom end and head gasket IMHO.

So a random problem I've been having above 5000rpms. Misfiring on 10lbs. Checked injectors(grounds and power), got a fpr, air fuels look good. So fuel shouldnt be the problem. Spark plugs gapped to .028. Coil packs are getting power, I SHOULD check the ignitor chip but I figured it either works or it doesnt. Timing is set to stock.

One piece of info found from FlatblackIan
"I have seen copper plugs that wore down and increased the gap, causing blowout
I have had coil packs fail for no apparent reason
I have had coil packs crack in inconspicuous places, so they test ok, but allow spark to escape into the head
I have had coil pack bolts break off allowing the pack to jump up and allow spark to escape under the boot
and I have had coil pack boots crack and allow spark to carbon track through them. "

How many of you have had problem with your coil pack boots? Never thought this could be the problem but from what im experiancing and what he said i'm leaning towards the coilpacks being the problem. Going to go ahead and thoroughly check the coil packs for any damage today. TOO EASY.
