ok so here is what i found lol im deployed in afganastan at the moment and i noticed something looking at a couple of the blown up trucks we have and lo and behold the RG31 uses the HX35w turbo. now considering this i could get it for free just wandering if the internal wastegate really make that much of a difference compared to the HX35? i would like to chat with some people using the HX35 on a Rb. I'm not really understanding what you mean by the internal WG making much of a difference. Do you mean will it hold down the boost? You'd have to port the piss out of the internal WG to keep it from boost creeping. I'd just external gate it, but I know people who run them with the internal gates. They creeped until they ported them out a LOT.

ya, it'd be tough to use the internal gate...even with it open all the time (took the actuator off) I boosted 20+ psi before 5000rpm with no signs of it slowing down. I also had the plate that bolts to the back of the turbo all ported, it just couldn't bypass enough gas...

Lol are you guys for realz yall? I'm using a modified actuator on my 7blade hx35w on my RB30DET. Just fired her up too. Oh well, external gate next season i guess.

Yeah, that's gonna boost creep like crazy. Sounds like you haven't tuned it yet? Top mount it? I'd take it back off and port the crap out of the internal WG at the very least.
