HVAC on J

So i'm driving the other day and i got my windows down cruising and i notice... god damn are my feet hot... wait... is that hot air blowing from the vents on the bottom? yes sir. But my Hvac is off... i turn it on and switch it to the air conditioner (65) and when i turn it off guess what starts to come out of the vents on the bottom? cold air. I've heard there are problems with this so... Do you guys know why my air system is randomly blowing air (it happens on and off) and what a fix is for it?

Our J30 hasn't done anything similar in quite a while and possibly not since I ran or re-set things using the climate control system auto diagnostic mode. Sorry, but I don't recall how to activate it.

There is a TSB for this(check alldata). It was a fairly common problem. The dealers use to fix it for free.
