Is there a way to prevent the HVAC display from dimming when you turn the headlights on?

2 reasons: I always drive with headlights on because people here can't even see me when I'm driving my big 1500 pickup much less when i'm in a car half the size and when I do I cant see the display and it's state law here to run headlights with wipers so on rainy days I cant see the display.

I'm wondering if it may be something as simple as say pulling a pin out of the connector for the dimmer signal? Because it is so dark and doesn't change with the illumination settings. There may be something wrong with it but it's working for now I'd rather not try and hunt down spare control heads and swap them all out. I do have another one in case mine quits working.

There was a guy around here somewhere at some point in time who swapped LED's into them... idk who or when. The mods should know. Who knows if he's around anymore. If you're handy you could probably figure it out with research.

That's what I'm going to try to do. I think I can figure it out, just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and resolved it. Will post what I find out.
