HVAC LCD repair (sort of)

My HVAC screen worked for the first time today, then 5 minutes later it crapped out again. I popped out the unit and removed the plastic cover and noticed that one of those little lines on the side of the screen was popping out.

So, here are my questions:

Could that be the problem?

Is it possible to remove the real screen and bend it (the line thing) back?

Or should I look elsewhere for the problem?

My AC/Heater works flawessly except for the damn display, so I would like to fix this!
