I know hitman has been involved with this, but I couldnt find the posts where he could hook us up with the stuff

I am gonna get some tint done soon, and one of the reasons Im doing it is to really make the heat transmission low...

How much and where do I get the stuff... I like the fact that it lasts longer and works better...

From my research huper optik is the best, if you are looking for heat protection. I don't like people to see in either, but from what I understand the two are mutually exclusive.

That is the really dark tint doesn't block out the heat well.

Yeah so I hear... I remember hitman saying it was like $500... ouch

I just want something that cools the cabin slightly... Ideally this is what I want but I was more/less looking for the lead that greg gave us.....

I have a deal in AZ, nowhere else.

You're looking at $350-$500 to get it done, and that's assuming you have no tint to be removed.

It's awesome.

Call Huper Optik and they can refer you to someone. I had mine installed for $300 - but that was a really good deal. I think it had more to do with it being a couple of weeks before Christmas in December when the tint business is very slow. I believe mine is the "Stark 30"

Since it's summer, it may take less time - but in my case it took about 4-5 weeks for it to dry out completely. Parking it outside in the sun would shorten the time - but I had a really foggy hazy mess for a while. They say that it takes longer for it to dry because it's a much thicker tint.

Stark 30 is now named the Ceramic 30. It is a thick film, several thousandths thick I believe (roughly paper thickness). Experience counts big time with HO; it's one of the more difficult films to work with. Heath, how's the final product look now?

Here is a product list, with different specs.

http://www.huperoptic.com/pdf_...P.pdf

It appears the the most potent tint is the Klasse series, DREI model..

I didn't know they had so many different kinds of automotive tint..

hitman, what did you get? Dannys family now has huper, I wouldn't trust bastards to instal a $$$ tint like this... They did do this ultra expensive ray ban tint I had on my supra, but I remember them not installing it as well as it should have been. Plus I can only imagine their prices are atrocious. If there tint jobs are anything like their detail jobs, I will avoid like the plague.

They do have a security series.. It appears the darker the tint is, the less protectant of the heat it actually is.

The Ceramic series (Stark 30, most common in sun states) is what they install in Austin. $399 for all windows, not including the moonroof. It is the darkest, but that's not the point. It's all about infrared heat rejection. No metal helps prevent radar detection efficiency loss also.

Klasse is a metallic film.

Hey Wes, I looked into the Huper Optik before I had my windows tinted and I couldn't find a dealer in the Indy area. I would have had to go up to Chicago to get it done. I called Huber Optik and they gave a name of a local company that does Huber Optik, but it was only for buildings not auto. Just a heads up. If you find a local installer, let me know.

Me too. Had to get to Peggy Mastroianni at HO (as AZHitman suggested in an earlier thread), then have her refer me to the area dealer contact who polled field sales reps who recommended an installer.

From the original thread:
AZhitman wrote:Here you go, guys:

The person to contact for ANY Hüper Optik dealer locations is Peggy Mastroianni. Her phone number is (888) 296-3456 ext 103 or you can email her at [email protected]. Please tell her Greg from NICO sent you and she'll get you squared away.

I can't WAIT to get my new tint... WOO HOO!!!!
Let her know you are from NICO!

Looks great now! I think it would cure much faster in the summer with the car in the sun... mine was during December and I was always parked in the garage.

BTW, I talked to Peggy Mastroianni and mentioned NICO when I called back last fall. At some point they'll start to know us by name!

The Klasse series has far better specs then any other huper optik tint.

Most definitely not true. Please read them again. Remember, it is metallic. Dealer in Austin only uses the Ceramic.

It has the most glare reduction, the most infared light rejection, the most solar energy light rejection.

Actually, to my knowledge, Huper DREI is the best on the market for heat and UV rejection.

My black Interceptor was done with this (in 2001) and was incredible. And yes, it was done by Danny's. They were the first shop to have an authorized Huper installer, and I'd trust them to do it again. I am friends with the CEO.

I just got a basic 35% grey tint today (max for GA law). Looks good, waiting for a few bubbles to work themselves out.

Very dark looking from the outside but very subtle from inside the car.

Still hot with no A/C, esp. having to keep the windows closed for a few days. :D

Hitman, you are correct. the DREI is part of the klasse series.

Actually, I had the opportunity to ghet the DREI tint on mine at the same price (installer had enough in the shop without ordering mine) but I decided that I wanted to get full use of the V1, and my cell phone drops out enough already.

What is the darkest (apperenace wise) huper line? I don't like being able to see in the vehicle from the outside.. However, I also want excellent protection from the harmfull uv rays..

Can I have my cake and eat it to?

Does dannys offer different series of huper, or just the ceramic lineup?

Which one do you have hitman

Does tint affect cell phone performance? I knew about the radar detectors.

No, but metal is electromagnetic reflective.

They offer the entire line.

My interceptor had the DREI.

My Q is getting the DREI in 2 weeks (need my daily driver, no time to take days off). Paid for it almost a year ago, never went in for the work... :(
