hunting problem!! help people! please!

ok i just did the battery relocation to my trunk, then i also did the intake conversion from the right side of the engine to the left side..so the intake is only like half of a foot long. but now i start my car and it hunts from between 200-1000 rpm. i'm not sure why, but i've already played with the idle control valve screw. that didn't help much. my car is a 5speed swap from automatic. if that helps any... this is also my DD so i need help asap!

Well my guess would be the air intake put the old one back on and see what that does if it returns to normal there's your answer
