So I have read on here with little info about a remote start being installed without any problems. Well I went to the Nissan Dealer by me and they said that they can Install a remote start in my car that has the push button start. While only using my original Keyfob. Now is that even possible? Well we will see by tomorrow night. I am dropping it off in the morning to see what they got.

Im hopeing for the best, cause its been cold as hell getting in that thing in the morning in NJ.

In West Chester, PA there is a shop charing $400 installed. Not sure of the brand, but my dealer uses them and he charges $450 for the same one installed. It has been very cold here in PA and all of my previous cars have had remote start.

Once you get used to it, it is hard to do without it.

There was an old post over this a while back. There are car alarm shops that sell these kits for around $200 that allow you to do it yourself. This allows you the use of your OEM keyfob to remote start your car too. I think I would go the $200 route before spending almost $800.00!!!!!!! The dealer is ripping you off! That's a waste of money when a quality car alarm shop could do it for half the price!

dealer pulling your chain... no need for another key.I had mine done for $400 at a shop I've always dealt with in Westchester.

Well they did it and it works great. As for the Key thing, all they were doing was getting me an extra key for me to have not to put it in the Remote start ( Like i originally thought). So now i have 2 keys that work with the remote start. I'm truly happy with the turn out.

If you like the end result....then that's all that counts!

Does anyone recall where to get the aftermarket DIY remote starter kits that utilize your factory key fob as it's source??

how do you use your factory fob? Do you hit a series of buttons to turn it on? I had a remote start on my RL and I really miss it.

To turn it on all i have to do is Hit the lock button on the keyfob 3 time and that kicks it on. Now to drive off you need to hit the push start button twice once you get in the car... All in all I am very pleased with this Remote start and would recommend it to anyone i meet....
