Yeah HW shows some pretty useful stuff. Of all of the types of martial arts shown, I have to say I liked Muay Thai best.

I watch Dogfights also...really neat show.

I hate that show.

Most "martial arts" annoy the crap out of me. No one seems to be able to differentiate between working out and fighting.

Most of the stuff they do in human weapon is totally useless in real combat. Real fights are NOT choreographed. They're not slow. They're not dances.Yes, practicing a lot of those arts can help you improve your agility, reflexes, etc. But Yoga won't win a fight anywhere.

Even some of the instructors they talk to say things like "You would never use this in real combat." Well then it has nothing to do with being a human weapon!

All the fighting they do in that show is so restrictive. No kicking, no holds, no grabbing, no this, no that. Uh...if I'm fighting you I'll do WHATEVER it takes to kill you. It's all showmanship crap, not fighting. It's not as bad as professional wrestling, but it's up there.

Plus, the hosts are whiners.

I was looking forward to it, too. I expected it to be really good since it's a History Channel show...but it ended up being pretty boring.

I was really happy about the Muay Thai episode. Have you guys watched the Karate and Savate one? The fights were soooo bad, the bald guy sucks.

I saw the karate one but I missed the Savate episode. The karate fight did suck for the most part...Bill hardly used anything he learned.

In the Savate one, he actually used 1 move he learned. He said "I used a perfectly time move", but he ended up almost losing balance himself. LOLI was hoping it would be a great show, but eh..My dad calls it "chicken fights"I saw better fights when I went to middle school.

Haha yeah I saw that episode the other day. It was funny when they showed Bill getting punched in the face in slow mo.

Even though none of the other episodes were as good as the one about Muay Thai, I still watch it. The only problem I see with the show is that Jason and Bill don't use a lot of the things they learn....and the fights feel "watered down."

that human weapon thing is interesting. personally i'd like to see them do Jeet Kune Do, bruce lee's fighting style. but i doubt they'll do it, its gotten so commercially chopped its horrible, the muah thai was was cool and i liked the one where they went and learned the phillipino stick fighting.

Actually Bruce Lee learned Jeet Kun Do, then he revised it to make the "best martial arts", but later he thought up the theory that "no style is the best style"That's why he wore the yellow jump suit, to not associate himself with any specific martial arts style.Maybe I watched his biographic video too much.

Actually i dont think he learned Jeet Kune Do, Im pretty sure he created it. i think Jeet Kune Do is translated to punch and kick way. he learned many many styles, and kept what was the best out of them and incorporated it to what suits best in street fighting.
