hi guys,

i just have a quick question on how to get the r33 RB25DET km/h signal to work on the R33 tach which is installed on my s13...

i already wired the two cables that are going from the speed sensor into the inside of the car and they are next to the ECU... could you maybe tell me where i should connect these 2 wires, in order for the PFC to get a speed reading and also make my speedo tach work...it would also be great if you know what the cable on the tach it is so that both things can work...

RPM and all other clusters on tacho work...

thanks!

ps: any idea which cables need to be connected in order for the oil pressure thingy to work?

I am going to assume you have the wiring diagrams for the S-13 AND RB25 right... (If not, just ask). Just trace the wires and re-solder them.

ok... i will try and explain it simple...

- I have r33 RB25DET installed and running on a PFC

- I have hooked up some tacho gauges (RPM, fuel stand and water temp) and they work fine.

- Now i am left with 4 free wires on the tacho and the km/h and oil pressure dont work.

- I have put the two cables from the speed signal thingy on the gearbox to the inside of the car next to the ECU.

My question is: how to make the ECU read the km/h and the tacho display the km/h and standart oil pressure gauge?

please help me out guys, cause i need to travel over 2000 km to a nissan meet and would need to know how fast i am going on the highway and oil pressure is a good thing to have...

thanks!

S13,

I have a similar setup. The tach wires should hook directly up, no conversion needed since you are using the RB25 and GTS-T cluster. No need to convert RPM. Should be Pin #7 on your RB harness. If I am correct as well, Oil Pressure should be pin 19 on the harness as well. I'm on lunch and do not have much time. I'm trying to find the thread I think Kansei wrote about hooking up the cluster. If I find it I will post it. PS are you in Austria?

I found this, it is from the FAQ at the top of the RB forum.

Tach Recalibration.

1. Pull Cluster2. Remove Backin and Clear plastic cover for the gauge.3. Take a sharpie and mark where the needle sits on the gauge face so when you're pulling the needles off you'll know where it sits so its not screwed up when you put them back on, you can also mark the spot it sits on.4. Remove the gauge faces.5. Where the tachometer face is... there is a variable resistor that you can stick a screwdriver in.6. Ussually you turn it all the way to the left.7. Once you've done that, do this entire process in reverse order.

Now since all motors are a little different and so are the electrical outputs, you might have to pull it back out, an then turn it a litte more right and a little more right, to get it perfect. Just keep doing it untill you're satisfied or if you have an SAFC it makes it alot easier to calibrate.

When using the sharpie on your gauge cluster, to get the stuff off, all you need it some axe body spray, or some red zone body spray. Apply it to some cloth and dab it onto the area that the sharpie has been applied to and it will either slowly or pretty much instantly come off.

I have the same problem, im too lazy to pull my clulster out to fix it, but you can figure out your speed from your tach if you dont have enough time. 2500 rpms in 5th is about 63mph for me, just have someone follow you and use a two-way or cell phone to figure it out.

thanks for the info on pin19 ... i didnt check it at first, because it says something with power steering on it on the ECU pinout...

will hook it up on the weekend and am curious whether the gauge in the cluster will work... would be great...

and about pin7; this is for RPM correct?? because i've got my RPM to work ... this is not the problem... the problem which i need to solve is how to make the km/h reading show on both the ECU (handcontroller) and on the cluster... where should i connect the 2 wires coming out from the speed sensor on the gearbox???

thanks for the helpful information so far

ps> yup, i am from austria ... the little country next to germany...
