Huge Wiring Mess on 89 s13

Okay so six months ago i bought an 89 240 not running needed just about everything you can think of , speed, coolent , maf ,cluster, for f*** sake even the transmission was bad intake was broken but anyways its had a huge wiring problem which is the only obstical i still have to over come and im absolutely stumped ive read the FSM and can not find it. SO

HERE IS THE PROBLEM:

When i press the break all the dash, button and out side lights come on like the head lights turn signals and break lights even when the car is off this will happen. But that is not the only problem i have a new speed sensor and cluster. The speedo works but is off by a few mph but the odo does not work. my batter was also dying frequently so i though the unhooked the rigged up deck that i didnt put in and it solved that problem with the battery but im still having the break and odo problem and every time i hit a search on Google or any fourm i can not find any thing.. so ... this car Also use to be AUTO ... i didnt do the swap though so im lost ...


Oh while im here might as well tell you folks my other problem my tps is auto and i think it could be why my car idles at 2000 for like an hour and will only kick down if i smash on it but ill save that for later i guess

But seriously, sounds like you have a chassis ground crossed somewhere right in the main loom. Get your multimeter out, get under the dash and do work, son. It may even be right where the loom goes through the firewall.

Yeah i was thinking the same... i migt gotshoked by my car too ... i had my foot on the ground and just felt a jolt go through my arm when i touched the car and hear a shock
where is the loom and firewall thing you speak of ? thx
