Tons of people are going to this.

A lot of people I've talked to are excited about the Tarzan ride-along in particular.

That's like a 6 hour drive. Count me out. I have always wondered why no one ever has any events in the greater metro area. Maybe it is because of all the Pigs?

I tought VIR is more like 4 hours from Arlington. I go there twice per year and I live up in PA (7 hr ride). I wish I could go. VIR is like a country club. Great facility, great people, awesome track. Well worth the triip. There are some events in your area. Summit Point Raceway is about an hour from you I think (near Harpers Ferry). The track is hosting 2 HPDE's 10/14-15. One with the Audi Club and one with NASA. I believe there will be a couple of NICOnauts at the NASA event, and I know of at least one NICOnaut that'll be at the Audi event (ahem). I'm sure there's room at either event if you're interested.

If it takes 6 hours to get from Arlington to VIR you need a faster car.

And what are these "Pigs" you speak of?

Bubba, I really, really wish you could make it... We need to chat about something.

With traffic as it is in the northern part of the state you are lucky to average 20 miles an hour on any road and almost anytime of day, or at least 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. What once was a 10 - 12 minute trip in 2000 is about a 15 - 25 minute trip in 2006.

Granted, but the entire trip doesn't occur in northern part of the state. Get away from Richmond, Arlington and DC and you'll be using cruise control.
