So when I bought my car I was told it had z32 brakes, which it does... In the front. aparently not in the rear. They are single piston brakes, but i dont know if they are s13 or s14, however I'm assuming they are s14 as they are s14 rotors.

I am fairly mechanically inclined, but never done brakes before.

the left rear caliper is seazed and a loud continuous scraping noise is heard.

I recently bought s14 brembro rotors, z32 hawk pads and z32 rebuilt 2 piston calipers for both sides of rear. However the one side was missing bolts, pin, and cross spring. so Im waiting on those parts

However, No where did I get the shims or pad retainers. Werent these supposed to come with the pads or semi-loaded rebuilt calipers? Or Am I going to have to order these to? what about grease?

Also, I'm worried that im getting over my head here with this. Are these calipers even going to work? or should I just return everything and start over with s14 calipers?

also any aditional tools am I going to need? and if so can i rent them from advanced auto?

I really need to get this done, worried about my car being safe to drive/ damage to other parts with the right rear brake dragging...

They don't always come with pads. My endless pads didn't come with squat. You probably will have to order them. You need the shims for the pads, the retaining pin (2x per caliper), the cross shaped spring (1x per caliper), the clips for the pins (1x per caliper).

that should give you a good idea of what you're missing.

What bolt was missing on the left side? Also why are you freaking out if it's the rear caliper that's taken a dump on you? Deal with that caliper if it's seized up on you.

You'll probably want that rear brake piston turning tool so you can bring the piston back into position. It'll look like dice with a bunch of weird protrusions. The front just some grease for brake pads and the missing hardware.

1 caliper came with the 2 pins, pin clip, and cross spring. the other caliper didnt.nothing came with shims and retainers, basically I need this: http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...00001

Currently I have no rear pads at all, rotors are warped and covered in rust, and one caliper is seazed. I'm just replaceing everything with new.

should I even continue with these parts or return them and go with s14 calipers/pads. Will installing these 2 piston calipers even work with the mounts for single pistion calipers?

Rather then be confused and possibly make costly mistakes, check out this site for an excellent write-up:http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap.htm

Ok, I have s14 rotors on currently, i Have new s14 rotors ready, I will be returning these 300zx calipers and getting s14 calipers, I just want it fixed

yes, that is rust dust deposited on the wheels from being constantly scraped off

that's the rear caliper, yes? The z32 caliper will mount up without much of a hitch, but it'll take work for the ebrake.

If you need to just get back on the road, I'd just switch the rotors and call it a day and save for the other parts you'd need to fit the z brakes on the rear.

i need more than just rotors...

No rear pads left at all (on either side of car) and the pic above shows the caliper that is seazed, I hear a constant gut wrenching metal on metal scraping from that wheel whenever I drive it

the other side would have just needed pads and a rotor turn, but i decided to go all new on both sides...

since I've never done brake work before, Im going to just return these z32 calipers tomorow and get s14 to match the s14 brembro rotors i got.
