Huge airbag recall. Allegations of data destruction and a coverup, millions of vehicles possibly involved. You may have a shotgun aimed at your face.

:dblthumb: no integrity left in the world, they say airbags save lives, I've never been in a wreck bad enough to deploy one but it doesn't seem pleasant. That's why I love my s13 & 90 c2500. I saw a special on cnn? Or one of those news channels about that. Apparently it's not law for dealers to research recalls. Very unfortunate lives are spared at the expensive of multi billion dollar companies mistakes. But as a consumer it is a good idea to research recalls before making a purchase. I know gm had a recall on 05 models for the ignition lock. Apparently anything over the weight of the key an clicker caused some type of damage causing the car to lose power, causing wrecks without deploying airbags. We got that one in two months ago. Only 9 years to figure that out lol. good luck to anyone in the market for a new vehicle

I am, but I'll be grilling the dealer about the airbags. I'm not fond of them, but, realistically, I'm not fond of kissing the steering wheel either, pick your poison. I wonder if this is also present in side air bags as well.

Good question I guess we'll just have to wait until it hits the news

We obviously need to solve this problem by inventing the retracting steering wheel.

It could also be solved by hiring Inga, the hot Swedish chauffeur... :naughty:

^^^ Works for me. In the Miata, I'd get to be extra close to her. She'd no choice but to smell me.

You all can and should enter your VIN here http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Owners/vin-lookup-sites to see if the recall affects you. Too many cars may be affected ... we cannot ignore this one. Even a low-speed collision that causes the airbag to deploy could kill the driver! :(
