HUD units

I went to a junkyard today and found 3, possibly 4, 240sx's with HUD. I read around some, it's my understanding that the gauge cluster itself is plug and play, but to get the HUD unit that is on the dashbaord to work you have to take the unit from the dash and the wiring harness that connects to it and spice it to your gauge cluster wiring harness. Is this correct? I'm not really concerned with the HUD unit working, as I don't have the windshield with the special unit or whatever for the HUD to display on. I guess if anybody else wants one let me know, and I'll save it for you.

i am not 100% sure but i believe you have to have a digital speedo for this to work on your car.

Just be sure to get the HUD subharness with the hud cluster and you should be fine. Everything is common sense and plug and play from there on out.
